"Perusahaan elektronik yang berpusat di Malaysia Barat itu umumnya memberikan tawaran sebanyak tenaga kerja wanita TKW, tapi sebenarnya lebih dari itu," kata Kepala Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi Disnakertrans Nusa Tenggara Barat NTB H. Mokhlis, di Mataram, Minggu. Ia mengatakan, pihaknya sudah melakukan komunikasi dengan perusahaan asal Malaysia tersebut dalam hal sosialisasi perekrutan tenaga kerja. Western Digital Sendirian Berhad Sdn Bhd memberikan kesempatan seluas-luasnya bagi warga Indonesia untuk menjadi tenaga kerja, namun yang diprirotaskan adalah warga NTB, terutama kaum perempuan. Menurut Mokhlis, perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang produksi alat elektronik tertarik merekrut TKW NTB karena menilai kaum perempuan NTB memiliki karakter dan kelembutan dalam melakukan pekerjaan. "Yang dicari minimal tamatan SMP atau sederajat. Nanti perusahaan ini yang akan memberikan pelatihan sebelum pemberangkatan. Biaya juga ditanggung perusahaan. Biasanya setelah bekerja baru dipotong," ujarnya. Ia mengatakan, pihaknya bersama sejumlah utusan Western Digita Sdn Bhd telah melakukan sosialisasi ke sejumlah kabupaten/kota di NTB, untuk memberikan informasi mengenai peluang kerja tersebut. Oleh sebab itu, Mokhlis mengharapkan agar masyarakat segera mendaftarkan diri melalui Disnakertrans Kabupaten/kota dengan membawa persyaratan yang sudah ditentukan. "Syarat untuk bisa menjadi tenaga kerja di perusahaan itu minimal berijazah SMP atau sederajat, usia 18-30 tahun, ada izin dari orang tua atau suami," katanya. Dengan adanya peluang kerja di sektor formal tersebut, kata dia, bisa membantu pemerintah Indonesia, khususnya NTB dalam menekan angka pengiriman tenaga kerja Indonesia TKI untuk sektor informal. Dilansir dari Reuters, Sony selalu mempertimbangkan kondisi pasar, potensi pertumbuhan bisnis, dan faktor lainnya. Pertimbangan ini sebagai bagian dari peninjauan berkelanjutan atas investasi dan operasi bisnisnya. “Sebagai bagian dari tinjauan ini, Sony akan mengonsolidasikan operasi manufakturnya dengan mengalihkan operasinya di Penang ke Selangor, untuk lebih meningkatkan efisiensi operasional,” kata Kepala Divisi Sumber Daya Manusia Sony Ric Ong yang berbasis di Penang, Sabtu, 5 Desember 2020. Operasional di pabrik akan berakhir pada 30 September dan akan ditutup pada akhir Maret 2022. Putusan ini akan mempengaruhi sekitar karyawan di Penang.
